Published quarterly by Carnegie Council and Cambridge University Press, the aim of Ethics & International Affairs (EIA) is to help close the gap between theory and practice (and between theorists and practitioners). The journal publishes original articles, essays, and book reviews that integrate rigorous thinking about principles of justice and morality into discussions of practical dilemmas related to current policy developments, global institutional arrangements, and the conduct of important international actors.

Scholarship in EIA connects discussions originating in philosophy, religion, and the social sciences with such interests and concerns as the function and design of international organizations and institutions of accountability; arrangements governing trade and the global economy; as well as issues of human rights, the environment, emerging technologies, global public health, and the use of force.

In addition to the quarterly journal, EIA publishes “Online Exclusives,” website-only (ethicsandinternationalaffairs.org) exclusive content, including essays, interviews, and roundtables that cover pressing global issues of the moment. These timely pieces allow the EIA community to engage with and explore global events as they unfold, centering ethics in conversations about evolving armed conflicts, emerging global health concerns, dynamic social movements, and more.
