The editors are pleased to present a Special Issue of Ethics & International Affairs to mark the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. At the core of this issue is a collection of essays organized and guest edited by Margaret P. Karns called “The United Nations at Seventy-Five: Looking Back to Look Forward." The collection contains contributions from David Malone and Adam Day; Ellen J. Ravndal; Ramesh Thakur; Susanna P. Campbell; Devaki Jain; Bertrand Ramcharan; Maria Ivanova; Margaret P. Karns, Kirsten Haack, and Jean-Pierre Murray; and Sophie Harman. Additionally, the issue includes an article by Jack McDonald on information, privacy, and just war theory and an essay by Anthony F. Lang, Jr. on constructing universal values. It also contains a review essay by Sarah C. Goff on freedom and justice in trade governance, and book reviews by Michael Blake, Elizabeth Kahn, Jamie Mayerfeld, and John Williams.
